Veolia becomes a Young Enterprise Business Backer

Helping young people to acquire the skills they will need to become enterprising, creative and commercially aware.

Supporting the next generation is a key priority for Veolia. For many years Veolia has been working with Young Enterprise, an organisation that empowers young individuals to explore their entrepreneurial potential and create a sustainable future.

Becoming a Young Enterprise Business Backer

Veolia Northern Ireland is delighted to announce that we have further strengthened our support for Young Enterprise by becoming a Business Backer. This partnership allows Veolia to contribute actively to the development of young people in the region, fostering their entrepreneurial spirit and providing them with the necessary tools and resources for success. By becoming a Business Backer, Veolia reaffirms its commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and economic growth in Northern Ireland.

Continuing involvement in the Business Beginnings Programme

Veolia’s involvement with Young Enterprise NI began with assisting Euston Street Primary School as part of the Young Enterprise Business Beginnings Programme.

As part of this programme, Veolia volunteers work closely with the students, guiding them on their entrepreneurial journey. The programme encourages students to establish and operate their own businesses, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities.

This year, under the guidance of Veolia volunteers, the two P7 classes at Euston Street Primary School embarked on a journey of discovery, identifying their strengths and assuming significant roles within their businesses. Weeks of hard work culminated in an exciting event in St George’s Market in Belfast where the students sold the products they had produced. The result was astounding, with the total sales exceeding £680. This success not only showcases the students' dedication and business acumen but also highlights Veolia's commitment to fostering entrepreneurial skills among the youth.
